Quick Chat: Wenyen Gabriel

By Tracee Jay | June 25, 2019

We sat down with Stockton Kings’ two-way player, Wenyen Gabriel for a quick catch up.

You suffered an ankle injury at the end of the season, what has your offseason looked like since then?

I had a stress fracture right before playoffs, and that put me out about six or seven weeks. Since then, I’ve been doing rehab with the Kings and I was cleared to be back on the court about a week ago. Since the season ended, i’ve been doing strength and conditioning training with the Kings training staff everyday.

Do you plan on playing in summer league this year?

The whole goal of that [rehabbing] is to get ready for summer league. I’m going to start doing some pickup ball this week. I’ve been working out with Bobby, Ernie and Katie, the whole staff has been there for me.

What are your goals for this upcoming season?

I have a lot of lot of goals for this season. I have my team goals and personal goals. Mainly, I want to get on a NBA roster for the most part, and transition from being a G-League player into an NBA player.
