On Tuesday, August 6, Stockton Kings staff, mascot Dunkson and Sacramento Kings Breakers will attend four National Night Out events across the city of Stockton, including a stop at Lord’s City Gym Center where they will present the Center with a check, in partnership with Stockton Honda, and school supplies collected from multiple community programs this year.
“The Stockton Kings have been the ultimate partner in supporting our youth throughout the year and especially helping us start off the school year right with needed supplies,” said Lord’s Gym City Center Executive Director Heather Green. “It takes a community to keep youth off the street and both the Stockton Kings and Stockton Honda are helping us achieve that this year during the National Night Out celebrations. Stockton Honda’s generous donation will help provide program supplies to ensure our youth continue to receive access to a positive and productive environment after school hours.”
During the 2018-19 season, Stockton Honda pledged $2.09 for every free throw made by the Stockton Kings at home and away games. With nearly 1,000 free throws made, the Stockton Kings and Stockton Honda will present Lord’s Gym City Center with a $2,000 check.
Additionally, last month, the Stockton Kings hosted their second annual Stuff the Bus event and collected over 2,000 school supplies for students at Lord’s Gym City Center and Gospel Center Rescue Mission. Participating teens at Lord’s Gym City Center will have the opportunity to pick supplies out of the Stockton Kings bus at their National Night Out event.
