Get to Know Deonte Burton

Guard and small forward Deonte Burton joined the Stockton Kings for the 2022-23 season after coming off a successful season with the G-League's Maine Celtics.
Burton attended Marquette University from 2013-2015 before transferring to Iowa State for the remainder of his college career. At Iowa State, after transferring mid-season, he was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year. During his senior season, Burton would further improve on his skillset, starting in all 35 games for the Cyclones, averaging 15.1 points and 6.2 rebounds .
Burton signed with Wonju DB Promy in South Korea for the 2017-18 season. In his lone season in Korea he averaged 23.8 points, 3.8 assists and 7 rebounds, which earned him the Korean Basketball League Foreign MVP Award.
On July 7, 2018, Deonte would come back to the states and sign a two-way contract with Oklahoma City Thunder and their G-League affiliate, Oklahoma City Blue. Burton played for two seasons with Oklahoma City. During his time there, he tallied averages of 16.9 points in 2018-19 season and 14.4 points and 7.4 rebounds in the 2019-20 season.
Burton would then go on to play for the Maine Celtics in the 2021-22 season, averaging 15 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists.
Burton is currently averaging 9 points, 4.4 rebounds 1.8 assists with the Stockton Kings.
