Skal Labissiere Selected To Play In 2024 NBA G League Up Next Game

Today, the G League announced that Stockton Kings forward-center Skal Labissiere has been selected to compete in the 2024 NBA G League Up Next Game presented by AT&T earning second place in fan votes. The event will take place on Sunday, February 18 at 10:30 am PT as part of NBA All-Star Weekend at G League Park in NBA Crossover at the Indiana Convention Center. The 6-10 Kentucky alum has started and appeared in 13 games for the Stockton Kings this season. In 29.1 minutes per game, he averages 16.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, and shoots 66.4% from the field. He also has earned four double-doubles this season.

Labissiere was selected with the 28th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft to the Phoenix Suns, his rights were then traded to the Sacramento Kings on the same night. He has also spent time with the Portland Trailblazers, Atlanta Hawks, Reno Bighorns, Westchester Knicks, Mexico City Capitanes, and the Baloncesto Superior Nacional of Puerto Rico.

This is the second year that the NBA G League will host the Up Next Game. The event will feature a new tournament-style format where four teams of seven players will have an influencer general manager charged with drafting their squad, customizing their teams’ jersey, and streaming the game on their own digital platforms. Teams will be made up of 28 NBA G League players, 10 of which have been selected by fan vote and 18 selected by the NBA G League with eight members of NBA G League Ignite and at least one member of the Indiana Mad Ants, the G League affiliate of the All-Star hosting Pacers. Each team will be coached by a head coach from the NBA G League.
