Stockton Kings Defeat Texas Legends to Win Series

The Stockton Kings, the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings (11-2), defeated the Texas Legends (4-8), 108-104, Sunday afternoon at Adventist Health Arena (formerly Stockton Arena).
Stockton Kings center Skal Labissière led the Kings with 24 points. Sacramento Kings assignment guard Colby Jones poured in 20 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Two-way forward Isaiah Crawford posted 13 points and five rebounds. Two-way forward Isaac Jones notched his third straight double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Dexter Dennis and forward Terry Taylor scored 14 and 10 points off the bench, respectively.
Texas Legends guard Tyson Walker led the game with 28 points. Forward Phil Wheeler followed with 17 points. Former Stockton Kings guard Justin Powell hit 15 points, while the Legends bench combined for 36 points, powered by guard Jarod Lucas (19 points) and forward Teafale Lenard Jr. (13 points).
The Legends got off to a 4-0 lead to begin the contest, before the Kings took over, 10-4. The Legends would then get their offense going to lead 30-19 at the end of the first. Texas kept the lead going into the second frame, taking on a 14-point lead with 5:26 left before the half (48-34). Despite giving up 18 points off 12 turnovers, the Kings chipped away at the deficit to trail 50-58 before going into the third quarter. After seven lead changes and three ties, the Kings powered themselves to a 76-75 score. The Kings saw their hard work pay off, outscoring the Legends 32-29, to take a 108-104 victory.
The Stockton Kings will compete against the Grand Rapids Gold (6-7) at Adventist Health Arena on Tuesday, January 28 at 7:00 PM PST and Thursday, January 30 at 7:00 PM PST. Fans can watch both games on ESPN+.
