Stockton Kings Fall To G League Ignite, 100-93

The Stockton Kings, the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings (4-5), fell to the G League Ignite (1-8), 100-93 on Saturday evening at Adventist Health Arena (formerly Stockton Arena).
In the first quarter of play, the Stockton Kings out rebounded the G League Ignite 14 to 8 and recorded 14 points in the paint. At the end of the first quarter the Kings trailed by three, 30-27. Stockton Kings guard Kalob Ledoux led the team in scoring with nine points in the first quarter while pulling down four rebounds. Kings forward Deonte Burton and guard Jordan Ford also recorded seven points each.
The second quarter was dominated by the Kings following a 27-6 run that saw Stockton take their largest lead of the game at 14 points. The run lasted over six minutes and was capped off with a dunk from Kings center Chance Comanche. Ford led all-scorers with eight points and went 2-of-3 from three in the second quarter. Comanche finished the first half with a game-high 10 rebounds, while Ford recorded 15 points (5-7 FG, 3-5 3FG) and four assists. In the first half, the Kings shot 46.7% FG, 47.1% 3PT, and out rebounded Ignite 31 to 19. Continuing their high shooting percentage from last night, the Kings shot 47% from the three in the first half. At halftime, the Kings led 56 to 48.
To start the second half, Ledoux scored on a driving layup following an assist from Ford to push the lead to 10. However, a 19-8 run in the third saw Ignite take their first lead of the half, 66-67. In the fourth quarter, Burton led the Kings in scoring with eight points, followed by Comanche with five points, and three rebounds. The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth contest that saw a total of five lead changes. However, after falling behind by two points with 35.2 seconds left in regulation the Kings were unable to regain the lead and fell by seven points, 100-93.
Overall, the Stockton Kings were led in scoring by Ford for the second consecutive night who finished with a game high 22 points, marking his fourth twenty-point scoring performance of the season. Meanwhile, Burton recorded 20 points and 5 rebounds in 35 minutes, Ledoux contributed 17 points, and Comanche finished the night with 11 points and a season high 16 rebounds.
G league Ignite forward Ronald Holland II finished with 21 points and seven rebounds. Ignite guard London Johnson recorded 20 points and forward Adam Gilder scored 15 points and seven rebounds.
The Stockton Kings will travel to Henderson, NV to take on the G League Ignite at The Dollar Loan Center on Tuesday, December 5 at 7:00 PM PST.
