Stockton Kings Fall to Salt Lake City Stars, 112-106

The Stockton Kings, the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings (4-9), fell to the Salt Lake City Stars (7-6) on Tuesday night at Adventist Health Arena (formerly Stockton Arena), 112-106.
In the first quarter of play, the Stockton Kings saw all five scorers record at least one basket while shooting 55% on 20 FGA. The Kings also went 4-of-4 from the free-throw line and out rebounded the Stars 9 to 6. With 3:15 remaining in the first quarter the Kings went on a 9-2 run to gain a six-point lead (30-24).
In the second quarter, the Kings gained a 10-point lead (their largest of the game) with 9:34 to play in the quarter. However, the Stars responded by going on a 27-8 run. At the end of the first half, Stockton forwards Jeremy Lamb and Stanley Johnson both had a team high nine points and shot 4-of-8 from the floor. Forward Jalen Slawson finished the first half with a game-high five rebounds, while guard Colby Jones recorded seven points, two rebounds and one assist. After two quarters, the Stars led, 53-44
To start the second half, the Stars went on a 10-3 run and pushed their lead to 16 points. Johnson led all players in the third quarter with seven points including shooting 2-of-3 from the free-throw line. Lamb pulled down four rebounds along with one steal. At the end of the third the Kings trailed, 89-69.
Despite starting the fourth quarter trailing by 20 points, Stockton went on a 23-7 run to open the quarter. This cut the Stars lead to four (96-92) following a layup by Kings guard Kalob Ledoux with five minutes to play. However, despite shrinking the deficit, the Kings were unable to regain the lead and fell by six points, 112-106.
In his first appearance for the Stockton Kings, Johnson led all scorers with 22 points. He also recorded nine rebounds and three assists. Meanwhile, Lamb recorded 21 points and 10 rebounds. Ledoux contributed 20 points, and center Chance Comanche finished the night with 22 points and 11 rebounds, marking his second double-double of the season. This is the first time this season two Kings players have recorded a double-double in the same game.
Salt Lake City Stars center Micah Potter finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Taevion Kinsey recorded 11 points and guard Johnny Juzang scored 18 points and one rebound off the bench.
The Stockton Kings will travel to Santa Cruz to take on the Santa Cruz Warriors at Kaiser Permanente Arena on Saturday, December 16 at 7:00 PM PST.
