Stockton Kings Fall To The Ontario Clippers, 126-76

The Stockton Kings, the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings (2-4), fell to the Ontario Clippers (5-1), 126-76 on Friday night at Adventist Health Arena (formerly Stockton Arena).

The Stockton Kings fell behind by 13-points following a 19-6 run by the Clippers to open the game. In the first quarter Stockton Kings guard Deonte Burton led the team with five points. At the end of the quarter the Kings trailed by 10 points, 26-16.  In the second quarter Kings guard Jordan Ford led in scoring with seven points. Kings guard James Akinjo added an additional five points, three rebounds, and went 3-3 from the free-throw line. With 4:54 remaining in the second quarter the Clippers went on a 17-2 run to lead 63-32 at halftime. 

In the third quarter, Burton led the team scoring seven points. At the end of the third the Clippers led 94-50. In the fourth quarter, Kings guard Jeremy Lamb led all scorers with 11 points, and shot 3-3 from beyond the three-point line. While the Kings forced eight turnovers in the fourth, the team fell to the Clippers, 126-75. 

Overall, the Stockton Kings were led in scoring by Burton who finished with 16 points (6-10 FG, 60.0%) and two rebounds, giving him his third double-digit scoring performance of the season. Stockton Kings center Chance Comanche recorded 12 points and five rebounds in 22 minutes. Kings forward Jeremy Lamb contributed 15 points, four rebounds and two assists. 

Ontario Clippers guard George King led all-scorers with 21 points (7-13 FG, 53.8%), four rebounds, and two assists. Ontario Clippers forward Joey Hauser and guard Elijah Harkless both recorded 17 points and center Bryson Williams scored 12 points and had a game-high 10 rebounds.


The Stockton Kings will host the Ontario Clippers again at Adventist Health Arena on Saturday, November 25 at 5:00 PM PST.
