Stockton Kings Roll Over G League Ignite, 120-90; Clinch First-Round Bye in G League Playoffs

The Stockton Kings (23-7), the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, defeated the G League Ignite (11-19) 120-90 at Stockton Arena on Sunday afternoon. With today’s win, the Stockton Kings clinched a first-round bye into the playoffs.

Kings guard Trey Burke led the way for Stockton, tallying 24 points, eight assists, including four-made three pointers on the night. Forward Alex O’Connell recorded 20 points, marking the first time this season where he has scored 20+ points consecutively. In addition, O’Connell saw seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals to pair with his double-digit performance. Forward Jeriah Horne contributed 19 points off the bench and five rebounds. Stockton also saw a huge lift from two additional players off the bench, forward Chance Comanche (14 points) and forward Christian Terrell (10 points).

King two-way center Neemias Queta and guard Jordan Ford both pitched in with double-doubles, marking the first time this season where two Kings players recorded a double-double within a single contest. Ford pitched in with 13 points and 10 assists while Queta scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. 

G League Ignite never held the lead throughout tonight’s game, allowing for Stockton to win by a 30-point margin. 

Ignite saw six of its players score in double-digits in center Eric Mika 16 points, guard Mojave King (15), guard London Johnson (14), forward Cameron Young (12), guard Pooh Jeter (11) and guard Sidy Cissoko (10).

The Kings will face Mexico City Capitanes at Stockton Arena on Wednesday, March 22. Tip-off is set for 7:00 pm PT.
