Stockton Kings Sweep Two-Game Set Against Sioux Falls Skyforce

The Stockton Kings (4-3), of the NBA G League, defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce (2-7), 91-75 at Stockton Arena.

Both teams played a competitive, back-and-forth first half. As a team, the Kings shot .421 percent in the first half, .227 percent from three-point land, and 100 percent from the free-throw line. The biggest lead of the first half belonged to Stockton with 24-15  in the first quarter. Kings center Emanuel Terry led the half scoring 10 points and added four rebounds. Kings guard Matt Coleman III also had a strong first half with 9 points, 2 assists, and four rebounds. Stockton entered the break leading 48-35.

After a relatively close first half, Stockton started to drift away and take control in the second half with the biggest lead of the game, 19 points, when they led 84-65 in the fourth quarter. Sioux Falls finished shooting .359 percent from the field, .074 percent from three, and .667 percent from the free-throw line. Skyforce forward DJ Stewart led Sioux Falls with 17 points, had three rebounds and three assists.

Coleman finished as the game’s leading scorer with 20 points, 8-of-11 shooting from the field, 2-of-3 from three, along with six rebounds, two steals, and six assists. Terry and Kings guard DJ Steward contributed 14 points each. Kings starting forward Ade Murkey contributed 15 points and seven rebounds. The Kings ended up shooting .459 percent from the field, .278 percent from three and .583 percent from the free throw line.
