STOCKTON KINGS USE SECOND HALF TO EVEN SERIES IN WIN OVER SOUTH BAY LAKERS

The Stockton Kings (6-4) defeated the South Bay Lakers (8-2), 112-109, in the final game of the two-game series at Stockton Arena.

The Kings trailed in the first half, closing the second quarter at 52-57, but found their momentum late in the second half. Kings guard DJ Steward led the way with 20 points, 6 rebounds while adding 1 assist. Kings two-way player center Neemias Queta followed with 17 points, 6 rebounds while grabbing 1 steal and 1 block. Kings guard Ade Murkey recorded 16 points shooting 6-of-12 from the field, while also adding 5 boards and 1 steal. The Kings finished the game shooting .494 percent from the field, .476 percent from three, .632 percent from the free-throw line, and saw 50 points in the paint tonight.

The South Bay Lakers were led by guard Mac McClung who had 29 points, 2 rebounds, and 6 assists. Guard Mason Jones recorded a double-double pouring in 16 points and 13 rebounds. Both forward Nate Pierre-Louis and forward Paris Bass combined for 30 points to help their team in the second half. The South Bay Lakers finished the game shooting .519 percent from the field, .333 percent from three, and .923 percent from the free-throw line.
