Stockton Kings Acquire Returning Player Rights to James Akinjo

Today, the Stockton Kings, the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, acquired the returning player rights to James Akinjo from the Westchester Knicks. In exchange, the Kings traded the returning player rights to Alex O’Connell and Jeriah Horne.
A 6-1 guard, Akinjo averaged 14.4 points (43.7 FG%, 33.7 3pt%, 76.9 FT%), 3.2 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game in 20 games (6 starts) for Westchester during the 2022-23 regular season. He went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft after spending his senior season at Baylor during the 2021-22 season. In his final season, Akinjo started in each of the 32 games he appeared in, averaging 13.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.0 steals per contest on his way to earning Third Team All-American honors. Prior to his time at Baylor, he played at Georgetown (2018-20) and Arizona (2020-21).
